Zimbabweans voted in large numbers on July 31, 2013, in a fiercely contested election pitting veteran President Robert Mugabe against Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai, who vowed to push Africa's oldest leader into retirement after 33 years in power. Mugabe, 89, was sworn in for a five-year term after Zimbabwe's highest court on threw out a legal challenge that alleged the July 31 elections won by President Robert Mugabe were marred by fraud.
