The Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) claims that Zanu PF has banned its meetings in Mashonaland East.

According to CCC’s Caston Matewu, “ZANU PF Dep Youth Sec said that CCC meetings are banned in Mash East. I will be holding several meetings in Mash East and I challenge him to attend and try to stop me. We are sick and tired of ridiculous threats. 2023 Mash East shall deliver for @nelsonchamisa.”

Zanu PF information and communications director, Tafadzwa Mugwadi, was unavailable for comment.

Meanwhile, a Zimbabwean High Court judge has recused himself from Job Sikhala’s case following complaints from his attorneys that he was allegedly interfering with the matter.

Sikhala was arrested soon after the death of CCC activist Moreblessing Ali, who was allegedly killed by Zanu PF supporters in Nyatsime. The lawmaker is facing charges of inciting violence and obstructing the course of justice.

His attorneys say these are trumped up charges. Sikhala's colleague, Godfrey Sithole, and several other CCC members are also behind bars for allegedly inciting violence.
