SCOTLAND (AP) - Sikandar Raza's 23-ball 40 and a captain's knock of 58 from Craig Ervine propelled Zimbabwe into the Super 12 phase of the T20 World Cup on Friday as they beat - and eliminated - Scotland by 5 wickets in Hobart.

It was a winner-take-all game at the Bellerive Oval as both sides came into the game level on points in qualification Group B.

Richie Berrington's Scotland opted to bat first after winning the toss, but they were never able to impose themselves on a disciplined Zimbabwe attack.

Only opener George Munsey, with 54, got going and the Scots were restricted to 132 for 6 from their 20 overs, Tendai Chatara taking 2-14 with the ball.

Zimbabwe made hard work of the reply though - Regis Chakabva, Wessly Madhevere and Sean Williams all fell cheaply, but a 64-run stand for the fourth wicket between Ervine and Raza put Zimbabwe back in charge.

There was still time for a nervy finish after both were dismissed, but a Ryan Burl boundary got Zimbabwe over the line with nine balls to spare.

Zimbabwe join Ireland in the second phase after they beat West Indies earlier in the day.
