Former assistant coach Paul Chimalizeni of the Zimbabwean soccer team Lengthens, fired this week along with coach Josten Mathuthu after the team lost two games over the long Easter weekend, says he was treated unfairly by club management.
Chiimalizeni said he was not given enough time to show results, particularly as he led the team up from Division One into the Premier League in the last season. But club managers said they don't want to see Lengthens to be relegated back down.
Though he's protesting the Lengthens management decision, Chimalizeni told reporter Marvellous Mhlanga-Nyahuye of VOA's Studio 7 for Zimbabwe that he doesn't intend to appeal it - the club has promised to pay out his three year contract in full.
Lengthens faces Chapungu on Saturday at Harare's Gwanzura Stadium.
