Resident doctors and nurses are returning to Zimbabwe's hospitals in hopes the new unity government will address the issues that led them to go out on strike in late 2008
Reports said, however, many of the health workers filtering back into state hospitals have not resumed treating patients pending resolution of pay issues.
But Chairman Amon Siveregi of the Zimbabwe Health Workers Association, a physician, told reporter Jonga Kandemiiri of VOA's Studio 7 for Zimbabwe that if workers were inactive it was only because there were no patients or equipment had broken down.
