Dollarization In Zimbabwe Extends to Premier Soccer League Matches

In an extension of dollarization, Zimbabwean football fans will have to come up with US$2 to attend Premier Soccer League games when season kicks off this month.

PSL Fixtures Secretary Godfrey Japajapa released the calendar for the season's first 10 weeks. Week one matches include: Black Rhinos vs. Lengthens, Sundowns vs. Bantu Rovers, Caps United vs. Hwange, Underhill vs. Dynamos, Motor Action vs. Eagles, Highlanders vs. Gunners, Monomotapa vs. Highway and Kiglon vs. Shooting Stars.

Sports commentator Michael Kariati told reporter Marvellous Mhlanga-Nyahuye that the move could hit attendance, but the country's football clubs say it is a necessity.
