Zimbabwean wicket keeper Tatenda Taibu will soon return to the national cricket team at the expiration of his ongoing 10-match ban - but this will not be until after the series of five-day internationals now under way against Kenya in Kwekwe, Midlands province.
Vusi Sibanda of the Zimbabwe "A" team stood out Thursday at Kwekwe Sports Club as he scored 185 not out, an international career best for him. The Zimbabwe "A" or second-string squad closed on 319 for seven still training Kenya by 14 runs.
Taibu was suspended over a quarrel with the Zimbabwe Cricket financial manager.
Cricket analyst Brian Goredema told reporter Marvellous Mhlanga-Nyahuye of VOA's Studio 7 for Zimbabwe that having Taibu back on the pitch could make a big difference in the Zimbabwe squad's forthcoming November tour of Bangladesh.
Meanwhile, Harare correspondent Safari Njema reports that cricket commentator Dean du Plessis has been presenting the sport to fans for years though he is sightless.
