Barack Obama has been reelected to a second four-year term as President of the United States of America.

With tens of millions of Americans voting in national elections on November 6, results indicated that the President reached the goal of 270 electoral college votes, out of a total of 538.

With most US states reporting results, President Obama has won a majority of electoral votes.

Governor Romney, the President’s Republican challenger, had over 200 electoral votes and nationally received as many, if not more, of the popular votes as the President, but it was not enough to clinch victory in the US system.

With many states still reporting results, the final tally of electoral and popular votes is uncertain
