Zimbabwe's Premier Soccer League said it has canceled mid-week games this week but added that such matches might resume next week as the league awaits a decision by the Zimbabwe Football Association.
PSL teams asked the league to scrap mid-week games, scheduled to catch up time lost during the World Cup in June and July, complaining that fans were not showing up with a disastrous impact on revenues from gate fees.
PSL Fixtures Secretary Beadle Gwasira told VOA Studio 7 reporter Marvellous Mhlanga Nyahuye that ZIFA has written to say it will meet in late August to discuss the situation, then reach a decision.
