Zimbabwe National Soccer Team Engages Unidentified Brazilian Coach

The Zimbabwe Football Association confirmed Tuesday that it has hired a Brazilian as national team coach, but said it will only divulge his name in January.

The top coaching slot has been empty since ZIFA fired Charles Mhlauri last June for failing to secure the team a place in the 2008 Africa Cup Of Nations in Ghana

ZIFA Chief Executive Officer Henrietta Rushwaya told reporter Marvellous Mhlanga-Nyahuye that the association has secured the new coach’s services.

Rushwaya acknowledged doubts that ZIFA can pay the salary of the new coach on time and in hard currency, so it has taken steps to guarantee this will be done.
