Dollarization seems to be creeping into sports as in other areas of Zimbabwean life - the Zimbabwe Football Association has endorsed a proposal by Dynamos football club to charge in hard currency for its Confederation of African Football Champions League semi-final first leg against Cameroon’s Coton Sport on Sunday.
ZIFA Chief Executive Officer Henrietta Rushwaya told reporter Marvellous Mhlanga-Nyahuye of VOA's Studio 7 for Zimbabwe that that she has asked the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe to authorize hard currency pricing for the Rufaro Stadium event and is expecting to receive an affirmative response from the central bank.
