WASHINGTON DC —
MDC 99 leader Job Sikhala said he is willing to work with MDC T leader Morgan Tsvangirai, who is calling all former MDC activists to join hands once again, in order to remove President Robert Mugabe from power.
Responding to Tsvangirai’s call Sunday for opposition leaders who left his party to return so that they can fight Zanu PF as a united front, Sikhala said what was important was whether they will be able to work together as a team.
Speaking to his followers in Harare’s Budiriro suburb, Tsvangirai pleaded with Sikhala, MDC leader Welshman Ncube and National Constitutional Assembly leader Lovemore Madhuku to return to the party.
He also hinted that his party’s congress might be brought forward from the scheduled 2016 to clear the chaos currently rocking his party.
But Sikhala told Studio 7 he was waiting to see how Tsvangirai will follow up on his Budiriro speech since he has not formally approached him.
“There is nothing that can stop people who could have worked together to one day reconcile and work together again. We are only trying to find each other and see if we can work together again as a team. It is our desire to go back to 2000 when Zimbabweans fought for democracy,” Sikhala added.

But independent political analyst Charles Mutasa said he does not think it was important for Tsvangirai to recall the other leaders without first dealing with problems in his party.
