Civic organizations on Monday held a meeting with media houses in Bulawayo to sensitize journalists on key issues on the forthcoming Southern African Development Community (SADC) People's Summit to be held in the city from 15 to 16 August, ahead of the SADC Heads of States and Governments summit to take place in Victoria Falls next month.

The People’s Summit runs on the sidelines of the Heads of States summit, where the civic societies compile the general public's demands and hand them over to the SADC leaders summit, in the form of a communique.

Meanwhile, the government says it is satisfied with the preparations for the heads of state and government summit. At least 700 high level delegates are expected to attend.
