The Combined Harare Residents’ Association (CHRA) has launched a series of public debates aimed at giving political parties a platform to present their ideologies to local residents.

Known as the ‘Inter-political party dialogue series, the program is designed to open up dialogue and inform residents about each party’s political goals ahead of this year’s harmonized general polls.

The series which started in Highfield Monday and attended by representatives from Movement for Democratic Change formation of Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai and the Mavambo Kusile Dawn party, is expected to continue next week with representatives from other political parties.

The MDC-T representative explained to residents the party's economic blue print - J.U.I.C.E, its rural transformation programs and the role of local governance and democracy in Zimbabwe.

The Mavambo Kusile Dawn party representative said the current governance system is benefitting party leaders than the public.

He said his party would improve the standard of life in the country if it is elected in the next general elections.

Combined Harare Residents Association chairman Simbarashe Moyo told VOA residents expect to have meaningful dialogue with all the political parties
