Highlanders Football Club have been fined $2,000 for causing violence which led to the abandonment of a game against FC Platinum played at Mandava Stadium two weeks ago.
In its judgment posted on its Facebook page on Monday, the Premier Soccer League Disciplinary Committee found Bosso not guilty of causing the abandonment of the game.
“However, Highlanders FC were found guilty of throwing missiles on the pitch and fined the sum of $2,000-00 (two thousand dollars), USD$500-00 (five hundred dollars) of which has been suspended for the rest of the season on condition the club is not convicted of any offence involving throwing of missiles. The fine of $1,500-00 together with the costs of the hearing shall be paid by the 31st of July 2017.
“Further, thee Disciplinary Committee ruled that the score line of the match shall stand at 1-1.”
Highlanders, FC Platinum and PSL officials were not immediately available for comment.
Bosso were recently fined $4,000 by the same committee for violent activities that gripped Barbourfields Stadium, which led to the abandonment of a game against Dynamos that was tied at 1-1 following a controversial goal scored by Dembare.
The game was awarded to Dynamos on a 3-0 score line after Highlanders were found guilty of causing the abandonment of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match.
