The Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) formation of former Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai says the West should not fully engage and re-integrate the Zanu PF government into the international comity of nations unless it has met a set of minimum conditions it has drawn.
The conditions include the alignment of the country’s laws with the new constitution, a judicial review and media reforms, including the overhaul of legislation restricting journalists in their work.
The party also wants the Zanu PF government to ensure the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission is overhauled with every eligible voter being registered in time for the next crucial polls in the country.
MDC-T spokesman Obert Gutu says it is important that the international community continues to put pressure on President Robert Mugabe’s government to ensure the next elections would not be disputed.

Responding, Zanu PF’s information director, Psychology Maziwisa, dismissed the MDC-T as a desperate party trying to get attention.
