Youth members of Zimbabwean Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai's formation of the Movement for Democratic Change marched in Masvingo in the country's southeast on Thursday demanding faster implementation of the 2008 Global Political Agremeent, instatement of Senator Roy Bennett as deputy agriculture minister and the restoration of the rule of law.
The youths, numbering about 300, handed petitions to Masvingo Governor Titus Maluleke and local branches of the ministries of Justice and National Healing. It was the latest in a series of demonstrations nationally by MDC youth demanding an end to talks within the inclusive government over GPA fulfillment.
MDC Masvingo province spokesman Tongai Matutu told VOA Studio 7 reporter Jonga Kandemiiri that the protests will continue until the demands of the youth supporters of the former opposition are met.
