Anti-Corruption Commission Chairman Denford Chirindo confirmed the arrest and said authorities have warrants to arrest Kariba legislator Cleopas Cachacha, also of the Tsvangirai MDC, and ZANU-PF legislators

Zimbabwean police acting on orders from the Anti-Corruption Commission have arrested parliamentarian Marvellous Khumalo of the Saint Mary's constituency on charges that he failed to account for his use of $50,000 in constituency development funds.

Sources said Khumalo, a member of the Movement for Democratic Change formation of Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai, was arrested Monday and was being held at the Rhodesville Police Station in Harare.

Commission Chairman Denford Chirindo confirmed the arrest and said authorities also have warrants to arrest Kariba legislator Cleopas Cachacha, also of the Tsvangirai MDC formation, and ZANU-PF legislators Peter Chanetsa of Hurungwe North and Franco Ndambakuwa of Magunje. He said all failed to account for constituency funds.

Chirindo said his commission is determined to fight corruption in Zimbabwe.

But National Constitutional Assembly Chairman Lovemore Madhuku said the commission was going after small fish while corrupt officials at the top remained at liberty.
