WASHINGTON DC —
The Zimbabwe National Students Union (ZINASU) says colleges and universities are sabotaging the organization through manipulating student elections in favour of the rival group aligned to the government.
ZINASU spokesman Avoid Masiraha says these tertiary institutions of learning recently adopted electronic voting systems which they are manipulating to destroy the progressive group.
He is bitter that ZINASU recently lost elections to the rival Zimbabwe Congress of Student Unions at Great Zimbabwe University.
“The problem is that when we vote all systems collapse before results are announced the following day. This is supposed to be an electronic voting system which we should be monitoring on the internet,” he says.
Great University authorities where student elections were held recently refused to comment.
