Warriors, Pharaohs Clash in 2014 Fifa World Cup Qualifier

Warriors coach Klaus-Dieter Pagels says his team is not intimidated by the Pharaohs of Egypt and is well-prepared for the second leg of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Qualifier clash at Harare’s National Sports Stadium on Sunday.

The Warriors lost 2-1 to Egypt in the first leg of the qualifiers played in Alexandria, Egypt, in March this year. The Warriors are at the bottom of Group G with a point. Egypt are leading the group with nine points.

Guinea is in second place with four and Mozambique is third with two points closely followed by the Warriors. The Warriors lost to Egypt 3-2 in the first leg and go into the match to restore their pride and with little hope of advancing to the next stage.

The Pharaohs coach Bob Bradley says he is impressed with his team's performance, which has had an unbeaten run in the three matches they have played so far.

Warriors coach Pagels said he has assembled a development team that is being groomed for future international tournaments.

Sports commentator Omega Sibanda tells Voice Of America's Studio 7 reporter Marvellous Mhlanga Nyahuye he is impressed with the coach's selection of young players to represent the national team as this will help in building a strong team in the near future.
